"Prison escape"
Technique: steel and brass
Zhivko Sedlarski is a Bulgarian-French artist, born in Elhovo, Bulgaria, son of the painter Kolyo Sedlarski.
With a long creative path since 1987, his works have become the property of museums, galleries and private collections in Bulgaria, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the USA, Lebanon, China and other countries around the world.
The author is a pioneer with emblematic sculptures that represent "fashion that does not dress". He is known as the "knight of the steel ladies".
The sculptures are like "inanimate" models, which further shows how collectivist Sedlarski is.
In his works, he relies on basic feminine qualities: tenderness-strength, militancy-delicacy, mystery-distinct beauty.
In the sculpture "Escape from Prison", he again relies on his typical duality.
The image is symbolic, elegant, his.
This time the dress symbolizes an escape, which can be deciphered in a variety of ways.
It is not known what this prison is – whether it is physical or rather psychological, sexual or life-related.
