Four decades of love for the magic of the seventh art, full halls, and shared emotions – this autumn, "Kinomania" celebrates its 40th edition! 

A festive event within the festival will be the authorial multimedia show "The Great Illusion" by a renowned creative team from the local theater scene. Under the direction of Veselka Kuneva and the set design of Marieta Golomekhova, the only performance will take place on November 22 at 7 PM in Hall 1 of the NDK. The large-scale production is conceived specifically for the occasion as a tribute to the magic of cinema, with uncompromising visual aesthetics and a breadth of imagination characteristic of this creative collective, known for iconic performances such as "I, Sisyphus," "The Flight of the Mole," "The Transformation," "The Portrait of Dorian Gray," "Fear," "Nose," "Invisible Child," the musicals "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Hair" by the State Opera – Plovdiv, and others.

In the second half of November – traditionally, the festival will present the strongest, most discussed, and awarded titles from Cannes, Venice, Toronto, and Karlovy Vary shortly after their world premieres. In Hall 1 of the NDK, "Wild Horse Nine," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Fjord," and "Minotaur" will be showcased.

The "Kinomania" festival is organized by the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in partnership with the "I Have an Idea" foundation. The project is realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, the National Film Center, and the Sofia Municipality. "Kinomania" is part of the Calendar of Cultural Events of the Sofia Municipality for 2026.
