The "Petlite" Formation – 20 years of history, dreams, and inspiration

The "Petlite" Formation was established in 2006 at the former Children's Home "Alexander Georgiev – Kodzhakafaliya" in Burgas by its former student Georgi Dimitrov, who is still the leader of the group today.

Initially, the formation included only children living in the home. Gradually, the group expanded, and children from families joined. The main idea is for children to find their path through art, develop their talents, and build connections and integration into society more easily.

Over the years, "Petlite" has realized over 300 independent performances and has worked with a number of popular Bulgarian performers.

In 2009, Georgi Dimitrov published the book "To Touch the Dream," in which he shares his personal story – how he managed to preserve himself, build his life and family, his encounters with different people, the difficulties, the successes, and everything that led him to the creation and development of "Petlite."

The new show – the story of "The Father of Burgas"

This year, "Petlite" presents their latest show dedicated to one of the most significant and noble figures in the history of Burgas – Alexander Georgiev – Kodzhakafaliya, known as "The Father of Burgas."

His story begins far from wealth and fame. As a child, he lived in the village of Zidarovo, Burgas Province. He grew up as a village boy, lost his father, and did not have the opportunity to attend school. Years later, together with his brothers, he built one of the largest businesses in Burgas and became an extremely wealthy man. But the true wealth of Kodzhakafaliya is not in what he possesses, but in what he gives.

Throughout his life, he never stopped helping people in need and donating funds and properties to institutions, churches, and communities. Despite his immense wealth, he lived modestly – in his small room, with his dog, without showing off his possessions.

Before his death, he donated land to poor people who had no home and no means to build one. He donated funds and properties for the creation of a home for soldiers' children, where they could be raised and educated. He supported churches, communities, and people in need, leaving behind an example of a person who understood that the meaning of wealth is in sharing it.

The message

With this performance, "Petlite" marks 20 years since its establishment, but it also conveys a much more important message.

In the fast-paced daily life, where material things often take center stage, the show brings us back to simple human values – kindness, empathy, mercy, humanity, and the willingness to help others.

The story of Alexander Georgiev – Kodzhakafaliya reminds us that sometimes the greatest wealth is not what we have, but what we can give.

"Petlite" wants to remind every viewer that the little things, good gestures, and human closeness are more valuable than the hurried time and material possessions.

The performance will feature special appearances by actor Yordan Sirakov and singer Kristina Doncheva.
